Professional Background

Aaron Hurd, MD, is a vascular and endovascular surgeon specializing in the treatment of peripheral artery disease (PAD).  Dr. Hurd treats patients at Augusta Vascular Center, Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Hurd is a graduate of University of Texas in San Antonio, where he also earned a master's degree.  He received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada followed by an internship and residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.  He completed fellowship training at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Hurd is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, an associate of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, as well as, a recipient of the Hiram Crutchfield and Golden Apple Teaching Awards.  Dr. Hurd is actively involved in aortic disease research and has presented at many national vascular meetings. Dr. Hurd is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery and is licensed to practice medicine in Georgia and North Carolina.
